We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Transformer Test Engineer to perform and oversee testing procedures for power and distribution transformers. The ideal candidate will ensure that all products meet performance, safety, and quality standards before delivery to customers. This role involves hands‑on testing, data analysis, troubleshooting, and collaboration with design and production teams.
A. Responsibilities and Duties- Conduct routine and type tests on power and distribution transformers in accordance with IEEE, IEC, ANSI, and customer‑specific standards.
- Operate and maintain high‑voltage test equipment including impulse generators, power analyzers, and insulation resistance testers.
- Analyze test results, identify deviations, and troubleshoot issues related to transformer performance.
- Prepare detailed test reports and documentation for internal records and customer review.
- Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to resolve non‑conformities and improve product reliability.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and internal quality standards.
- Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and customer witness testing as required.
- Assist in the development and improvement of testing procedures and equipment calibration schedules.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and manufacturing engineering.
- Proficiency in Solid Works and other CAD software.
- Demonstrated experience with equipment installation and layout planning.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.
- Hands‑on experience with metal fabrication and basic electrical systems.
- Familiarity with APDP or similar product development methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially in heavy industry or electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Multilingual skills (English, Spanish, Mandarin) a plus.
