Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector
We are looking for a diligent Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector to join our team in our Wytheville office. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct field inspections for compliance with permits, update construction/project documents, and perform post-construction inspections. Must have a valid drivers license in good standing with a minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain detailed records and reports related to erosion and sedimentation.
- Review sedimentation and erosion control plans for adherence to regulations.
- Inspect various components like perimeters, silt fences, sedimentation basins, and grading.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct on-site inspections to monitor compliance progress and enforcement activities.
- Travel to remote sites as needed for inspections.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required;
Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred. - VA DEQ Stormwater and ESC certification required or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Self-starter with a willingness to learn.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsive to inquiries.
Estimated Base Pay Range: $22 - $26 per hour
How We Determine Pay:
Final compensation within this range is determined in good faith and is based on objective factors. These include the candidate's specialized skills, level of experience, geographic location, and specific educational background or certifications.
Additional Compensation:
This position will be eligible for 401(k) matching and ownership through our ESOP and may also be eligible for incentive pay subject to company performance and performance-based raises.
