Registered Nurse (RN) – Charge Nurse – Medical Surgical

Schedule:

Full Time Nights – 7p – 7a, rotating weekends.

Twenty‑five bed Med‑Surg with a 1:5 nurse‑to‑patient ratio. Mix of acute care: telemetry, occasional pediatrics, medical and surgical. Preceptor programs, charge nurse opportunities, clinical ladder, flexibility with self‑scheduling.

• Supervises nursing and support staff during assigned shifts and ensures safe, quality care.
• Determines staffing levels and assignments based on availability, abilities, census, acuity and workflow.
• Provides direct patient care as needed and may take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
• Floats between staff to assist with problem‑solving.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies issues affecting outcomes.
• Performs role‑specific duties including entering orders, performing admissions/discharges, and coordinating transfers.

Applicants must have a current VA or compact RN license.

• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within one year of hire.
