Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled ER RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Wytheville, Virginia. The role involves high‑pressure patient care in an emergency department, ensuring rapid assessment, triage, treatment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per protocols
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examinations
- Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs
- Observe and document patient conditions as required within scope of practice
- Take and monitor vital signs, addressing deviations to prevent complications
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, and protocols
- Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR
- Initiate patient education plans individualized to acute care needs
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and support staff
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Proficiency in reading instructions, following verbal instructions, and basic PC skills
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move about, and maneuver equipment (50‑100 lbs)
- Interpersonal skills to work positively with diverse personnel
- Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation and procedure assistance
- Mental resilience to manage frequent public contact and deadlines under pressure
