The Quality & Warranty Manager will oversee Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Warranty Management, working in partnership with Operations, Engineering, Marketing, Project Management, and Sales professionals. The core work environment includes the assembly and testing of pad mount, oil‑filled transformers, and warranty servicing of returned units.
Responsibilities and Duties- Establish and maintain a world‑class quality environment and mindset across the facility.
- Support and implement Lean and quality systems such as 5S/6S, eQMS, and PFMEA.
- Lead implementation and ongoing compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Build quality and warranty processes, workflows, and documentation.
- Manage quality assurance plans to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct audits, investigations, and corrective actions to maintain product quality.
- Coordinate client inspections and ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
- Validate and optimize quality processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on new product development and continuous improvement.
- Work with suppliers to ensure quality raw materials and vendor compliance.
- Identify and resolve production‑related quality issues promptly.
- Oversee warranty service, return evaluations, processing, and documentation.
- Supervise and develop team members, including training and succession planning.
- Lead problem‑solving efforts and support cost‑optimization initiatives.
- Serve as primary contact for all quality and warranty communications.
- Monitor and track quality trends, preparing detailed management reports.
- Identify and mitigate risks affecting product quality and reliability.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (Electrical Engineering strongly preferred).
- 12+ years of experience in quality management, engineering, or operational excellence.
- 2+ years in a quality leadership or supervisory role.
- 5+ years of experience with ISO 9001 certification and Lean practices.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with Lean Techniques, PFMEA, 5S/6S, and eQMS systems.
- Facility start‑up or greenfield operation experience.
- Strong leadership and team development capability.
- Leadership excellence with the ability to build a quality‑driven culture and effectively supervise teams.
- Advanced technical knowledge of ISO 9001, Lean systems, PFMEA, audits, and quality methodologies.
- Strong analytical thinking, root‑cause problem‑solving, and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
- Clear, professional communication skills for reporting, inspections, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.
- High attention to detail, organization, and the ability to maintain quality standards under tight deadlines.
- On‑site position located in Wytheville, Virginia.
- Occasional travel required (local & international), up to 5 weeks per year.
- Work environment includes manufacturing, assembly, and testing of pad‑mount oil‑filled transformers, plus warranty evaluation of returned units.
