Advanced Level Class
The advanced level class works under general supervision and requires thorough knowledge of administrative policies and procedures, clerical and secretarial procedures in order to provide secretarial and non-routine administrative support (i.e., independently formulates decisions and/or judgments involving non-legal interpretation of policies and procedures as they would apply to given situation to resolve problems, to prepare correspondence and/or reports or to carry out other assignments) and if assigned, acts as lead worker over lower-level administrative and/or office support staff.
Normal working hours:
Monday
- Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Prepares/composes routine and non-routine correspondence, reports, charts, tables and graphs from general direction; researches various issues and topics for elected officials for presentations, speeches and response to inquiries; gathers and compiles data and information from state and local elected officials as well as other entities; processes and manages confidential information; gathers/disburses meeting materials; coordinates details of meetings; creates/maintains highly confidential filing system.
Acts as back-up to Board Clerk. Manages calendars for Board appointments; makes travel/lodging arrangements; acts as support person for County Administrator daily as needed; arranges conferences/speaking engagements; opens, reads, replies and disburses mail for the office; answers/screens call for Board members/Administrator. Greets visitors; acts as host/hostess as needed. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) and completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 30 mos. experience in secretarial/administrative professional field. Valid Ohio Driver's License
- Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above may be substituted for the education and/or experience required. Education and Experience may not be substituted for mandated licensure/certification.
Unusual working conditions: predictable and regular attendance is required. Stooping, crouching, reaching repetitive motion, exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally to lift carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
