JOB DESCRIPTION AND WORKER CHARACTERISTICS
• Full-Time Unclassified Position.
• Hours 7:30am-4:30pm Monday – Friday. (These times may vary)
• Answer telephone and assist public in records requests.
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
• Scan and process documents.
• Type and index into Recorder's system.
• Preserve Historical Records
• Represent the office in a professional and friendly manner. ENTRY RATE :
Based on experience and knowledge HOURS OF WORK : 40 hours weekly
PERFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES include:
• Knowledge of real estate or real estate title work.
• Prior office experience.
• Understand instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Read and understand correctness/completeness of a variety of documents.
• Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
• Understanding of County Handbook and scheduling procedures.
• Familiarity with the use of computers and business software such as Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook email, and various other software or the ability to learn them.
• Use or learn to use various business scanning equipment and scanning software, fax machine, copier, and various other office equipment.
• Use a keyboard to enter data into various databases efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain effective working relationship with fellow employees, supervisors, other agencies county officials, and the general public.
• An understanding and passion for accurately preserving our county's real estate history PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Employees should regularly expect long periods of standing, sitting, and screen viewing. Lifting or moving of boxes, files, equipment, record books, etc. (Seldom exceeding 25 pounds). Occasionally required to stoop or kneel to retrieve records from lower shelves.
• Requires good dexterity of hands and fingers to sort through documents and use documents preparation tools, --staple remover, pliers, letter opener, scissors, etc. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• General office environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/LICENSING:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) and four (4) years of experience related to the area assigned to, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed in the position description. Valid State of Ohio Driver's License required
