We're looking for an experienced Production Director to lead multiple touring events, mentor Production Managers, and ensure flawless execution from planning through show close. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced live event environments and enjoys solving complex production challenges while leading high-performing teams.

What You'll Do

As a Production Director, you'll oversee the production planning and execution of multiple Dance One touring brands and seasonal events.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead production operations for 2-3 national touring events and multiple summer productions.
  • Manage and mentor Production Managers, providing coaching, direction, and operational support.
  • Ensure all lighting, audio, video, staging, and rigging elements are planned and executed to the highest standard.
  • Partner with internal departments including Operations, Logistics, Warehouse, Creative, and Event Directors to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Develop production schedules, staffing plans, equipment allocations, and event logistics.
  • Monitor budgets, labor, travel, vendor coordination, and production expenses.
  • Review production reports and administrative systems related to travel, payroll, crew scheduling, and operational compliance.
  • Troubleshoot production issues quickly while maintaining a calm, solutions-focused leadership approach.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and industry best practices.
  • Serve as the primary production leader on-site for assigned events.
What You Bring

We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with exceptional leadership.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience leading live event productions.
  • Strong understanding of live event production operations.
  • Expert-level knowledge in at least one of the following:
    • Lighting
    • Audio
    • Video
    • Staging
    • Rigging
  • Working knowledge of the remaining production disciplines.
  • Experience managing production crews and technical staff.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Comfortable working with production software, scheduling systems, and administrative databases.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the year.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods during live events.
