MBI Tree Services is seeking a Finance & Accounting Coordinator to join our growing team in Xenia, Ohio. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the day‑to‑day financial rhythm of a business while working in a collaborative, down‑to‑earth environment.

As a Finance & Accounting Coordinator, you will play a central role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly, supporting payroll, managing AP/AR workflows, maintaining accurate books in Quick Books, and assisting with monthly financial reporting. You will work closely with leadership and our external CPA to ensure financials are organized, timely, and decision‑ready.

What Success Looks Like in This Role
  • Run weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain clean, organized books in Quick Books
  • Keep AP and AR current with minimal aging issues
  • Support a timely and structured month‑end close
  • Deliver reliable monthly P&L reporting to leadership
  • Build strong working relationships with operations and field leadership
  • Identify process improvement opportunities

As MBI continues to scale in revenue, crew count, and geographic reach, this role offers meaningful growth opportunity. Expanded responsibilities may include job costing, budget support, enhanced reporting, cash‑flow visibility assistance, process automation, and oversight of additional accounting support staff. For high performers, this position can naturally progress into a Senior Accountant or Finance Manager track as the company’s financial complexity increases.

Core

Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Manage Accounts Payable including vendor setup, coding, and payment processing
  • Manage Accounts Receivable including invoicing support and collections tracking
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy in Quick Books
  • Record journal entries and expense allocations
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and audit trails
Payroll Administration
  • Process weekly payroll for field and office staff
  • Review timecards and ensure proper job and cost coding
  • Coordinate payroll adjustments, deductions, and reporting
Financial Reporting & Close
  • Assist in preparing monthly Profit & Loss statements
  • Support month‑end close including reconciliations, accruals, and expense review
  • Provide leadership with timely financial data
CPA & Tax Support
  • Work directly with external CPA on filings, documentation, and year‑end close
Required Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years accounting, bookkeeping, or finance support experience
  • Strong Quick Books proficiency
  • Experience with AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Exposure to month‑end close processes
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented
