Position Overview:
The Operations and Logistics Technician supports transportation, cylinder manufacturing, and warehouse functions to ensure the safe and efficient handling, movement, and processing of cylinders, materials, and finished products. This role is essential to maintaining operational efficiency, product quality, and reliable customer service.
The position involves operating company vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and internal safety policies, as well as performing hands-on work within the manufacturing and warehouse environment. Responsibilities include cylinder disassembly, inspection, assembly, and general warehouse support, requiring attention to detail, safety, and teamwork across operational areas.
Essential Duties:(Additional duties may be assigned as required.)
Transportation & Delivery:
- Safely operate company trucks to transport cylinders, raw materials, and finished products between manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and customer locations.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery and pickup of products in accordance with schedules.
- Verify delivery instructions, routes, and schedules prior to departure.
- Properly load, secure, and unload cylinders and materials using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, straps, chains, etc.).
- Inspect cargo to ensure compliance with weight limits, hazardous material regulations, and company standards.
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting findings and reporting mechanical issues.
- Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations and keep accurate driver logs.
- Interact professionally with customers and facility staff during deliveries and pickups.
- Verify and obtain proper signatures, documentation, and receipts for all deliveries.
- Keep assigned vehicle clean, fueled, and in safe operating condition.
- Report maintenance needs promptly and ensure proper use of safety and securement equipment.
- Complete all required delivery paperwork, driver logs, and electronic records accurately.
Cylinder Manufacturing Duties:
- Disassemble returned or damaged cylinders in preparation for inspection, repair, or refurbishment.
- Assemble cylinders and components according to established work instructions, drawings, and quality standards.
- Perform visual and functional evaluations to identify defects, damage, or wear.
- Assist with cleaning, testing, painting, labeling, and finishing processes as required.
- Accurately document inspection findings, repair actions, and production records.
- Follow all manufacturing, quality, and safety procedures within the cylinder repair facility.
Warehouse & General Duties:
- Assist with receiving, staging, and shipping of cylinders, parts, and materials.
- Organize cylinders and materials in designated storage areas, racks, and yards.
- Support production logistics by moving materials and work-in-process items.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Perform general warehouse duties, including housekeeping and maintaining organized work areas.
- Assist with inventory handling and material identification as needed.

Language Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
