The Maintenance Technician I at Hampton Inn & Suites in Xenia, Ohio plays a critical role in ensuring the hotel’s facilities and equipment are operating efficiently and safely to provide an exceptional guest experience. This position involves performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs across various systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building infrastructure. The technician will work proactively to identify potential problems before they impact operations, contributing to the overall upkeep and appearance of the property.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Previous experience in a maintenance role within the hospitality industry.
- Certification or training in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Basic knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guests.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests, diagnosing issues and completing repairs efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of hotel events and ensure all facilities are in proper working order.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies by identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
The required skills enable the Maintenance Technician I to perform daily inspections and repairs efficiently, ensuring all hotel systems function properly to support guest comfort and safety. Proficiency with hand and power tools is essential for executing maintenance tasks accurately and safely. Problem-solving skills are used to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions, minimizing downtime.
