Assessment Service Coordinator
The Assessment Service Coordinator is a professional person appointed to manage assessment services for youth at the Greene County Juvenile Court Assessment and Intervention Center in Xenia, Ohio. The Assessment Service Coordinator has primary responsibility to collaborate with the Assessment and Intervention Assessment Team regarding the delivery of assessments, caseload management and determination of individual, group and family services while promoting the goals, objectives and mission of the organization.
The Assessment Service Coordinator is an unclassified employee appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Greene County Juvenile Court Judge under the provisions of 2151.13 and 2152.42 of the Ohio Revised Code.

Job duties (examples may not be comprehensive):
- Assessment:
Screen referrals pursuant to criteria; facilitate receiving and processing of youth into and out of the program and/or facility; interview court personnel, law enforcement and other social services professionals; interview youth; interview parent or legal guardian; administer risk, need and responsivity assessments, including but not limited to Ohio Youth Assessment System (OYAS), mental health screening, family needs assessments and human trafficking assessment;
function as OYAS Administrator; track administration of assessments; present case review weekly to inter-disciplinary Assessment Team. - Case Management:
Create case plans for families based on recommendations of Assessment Team; follow and communicate with families at specific intervals (one week, 30 days, 45 days and 60 days) while maintaining a data tracking system. - Records/Reports:
Function as primary manager of facility case records; track and manage case-load; maintain case files and confidentiality of records in accordance with applicable law; maintain availability of assessment instruments; monitor progress; maintain contact list of community resources; maintain Assessment Team Meeting Minutes; enter data into agency software programs; generate additional reports, as needed. - Public Relations:
Promote the program and consult with professionals including, but not limited to, court officials, mental health practitioners, social services workers, medical personnel, university personnel, parents/guardians, students, case workers, school officials, law enforcement, attend court hearings; serve as court representative at Family and Children First Cluster Meetings; participate in agency interview and staff selection process; conduct agency tours, as needed. - Meetings/Committees:
Assessment Team Meetings;
Program Review Meetings;
Family and Children First Cluster Meetings; other meetings and committees, as needed. - Quality Assurance:
Conduct, track and analyze program data; provide analysis to inform establishment of annual delivery goals; engage in program development; including writing policies and procedures; support development and delivery of staff training; ensure safety and hygiene of work environment; assist with program monitoring by the Ohio Department of Youth Services, including site reviews and annual audits. - Program Delivery:
Ensure compliance with program rules, policies and procedures; intervene and direct crisis intervention pursuant to policy and CAPI training; assist in Intervention Center programming, including transportation as needed; provide staff training; provide consultation and support regarding documentation; develop and revise policy and procedures, including program descriptions. - Support Functions:
Research; policy review; special projects.
Minimum requirements (examples may not be comprehensive):
Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Childhood Development or related field or any combination of education and professional experience commensurate with a degree – Master's Degree preferred; 2 years of experience in juvenile court or related field working with children and families in an organized setting, experience should include assessment and case management; satisfactory completion of professional references check;
satisfactory completion of criminal background check; satisfactory completion of sexual risk assessment; satisfactory completion of Ohio Attorney General Offender Search; affirmative duty to report prior and/or current misconduct; confirmation of valid Ohio driver's license and driving requirements established by the Greene County Board of Commissioners; confirmation of degrees, licenses and/or certificates.
