Facilitates overall site direction ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Facilitates and assists in the identification, evaluation, and control of safety and environmental risks in the plant. Assists and/or facilitates skills building and training of plant leadership and employees. The EHS Manager serves as the subject matter expert on all safety, compliance, regulatory and related insurance requirements for the facility.

• Facilitates management of risk management programs.
• Assist in the development and review of plant programs and procedures to assure accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure the annual training schedule is established and monitor the completion of EHS training through documentation.
• Obtain or develop EHS training materials.
• Present or coordinate EHS training sessions.
• Develop and update EHS written programs.
• Assist in the tracking of key performance indicators and deliverables providing direction and support to the site.
• Assist in the review of capital and EHS-related projects.
• Establish and guide the plant Safety Committee to facilitate the implementation of pertinent policies and procedures for the assigned operations.
• Consistently monitors and reports on progress of HSE plan to stakeholders. Presents reports defining progress, opportunities, and potential solutions. Assists in auditing plant status, progress, and case management.
• Ensures that the facility is in compliance with all agency regulations (DOT, OSHA, NFPA, and EPA), training, reporting, and any other requirements by such agencies, our insurance companies, and B&G Foods requirements. Complies plant communication to meet corporate reporting requirements. Maintains central repository for site safety related documentation.
• Facilitates industrial hygiene monitoring for the facility. Including but not limited to confined space, hazmat, air quality, noise, heat or other hazard monitoring as & when necessary.
• Conducts post incident investigation and prepares report identifying possible root causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.

• A bachelor's degree in hygiene, safety, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
• Must be certified in CSP/CIH, OSHA 30-hour, SQF Practitioner, and First Aid.
• At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Problem-solving to enable the development and execution of cost-effective solutions to minimize/eliminate risk.
• Creativity to enable the use of tools, resources, programs, processes, and solutions.
• Presentation skills to enable effective training and communication at all levels of the organization.
• Written and oral communication skills to enable the use of multiple communication media (workbooks, presentations, reports, etc.) as needed.
• Change management skills.
