About the Role

This role is ideal for an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys leading teams, developing client relationships, and providing strategic guidance on accounting, financial reporting, and assurance matters. The Assurance Manager will oversee multiple engagements, manage client expectations and budgets, review complex financial statements and work papers, and help drive high-quality client service and team performance.

As an Assurance Manager, You Can Expect To:
  • Manage audit, review, and other assurance engagements from planning through completion.
  • Serve as a primary relationship manager for assigned assurance clients, proactively communicating engagement status, expectations, risks, and recommendations.
  • Oversee engagement budgets, workflow, realization, billing, and profitability while maintaining quality standards.
  • Review financial statements, footnotes, management letters, work papers, audit programs, and engagement documentation.
  • Apply professional standards, firm methodologies, and quality control procedures to support high-quality engagement execution.
  • Research complex accounting and auditing matters and provide practical recommendations to clients and firm leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to provide value-added services and expand client relationships.
  • Develop external relationships with bankers, attorneys, and other professional networks.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor team members, including assigning work, reviewing performance, and providing timely feedback.
  • Promote the firm’s professional image, collaborative culture, and commitment to client service excellence.

Technical and Professional Skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, audit methodologies, and professional standards.
  • Advanced analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with public accounting workflow and research tools is helpful, including CCH Engagement, Axcess Practice, Work Stream, Knowledge Coach, and Fixed Assets CS.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Active CPA license required.
  • Five or more years of public accounting experience required.
  • Experience managing audit and attestation engagements within a mid‑to large‑size firm preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary range of $100,000 to $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
