Job Description Summary
Pay Range: $21.29 - $27.00 per hour (AFSCME 87 Pay Plan B21, Step 1-13)
Hiring Range: $21.29 - $22.60 per hour (AFSCME 87 Pay Plan B21, Step 1-4 DOQ)
Job Closing Date:
August 15, 2026 with weekly reviews.
- Creates legal documents as needed by attorneys for court.
- Creates, summarizes, edits and/or distributes a variety of documents such as summons, information, judgments and sentences, court ordered sentence modifications.
- Filing updates for court documents.
- Performs research in specialized computer systems and prepares related legal documents and reports.
- Creates and maintains complex files and databases such as official records or legal case files.
- Maintains filing systems in accordance with established procedures.
- Provides assistance to the general public and other law and justice agencies.
- Provides assistance and responds to other support staff regarding procedures and policies to ensure compliance with governing laws, rules, regulations and standards.
- Other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D and four (4) years of general office experience OR any equivalent combination of higher education and applicable experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Successful completion of a criminal background investigation, fingerprinting, and general employment verification.
- Preferred:
Legal or Court experience;
Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Computer, telephone, typewriter, printers, copy machine, E‑Mail, fax, calculator, transcriber, voice mail and other general office equipment.
The position is rated as sedentary work involving occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. All tasks are performed while seated for most of the time, with occasional walking and standing. The workplace may be located in different facilities and may involve locked down areas.
