About This Role

Consertus is seeking a Project Manager to represent the Owner’s interests on K–12 school construction and renovation projects—from early planning and procurement, through preconstruction, and continuing through closeout. This role owns the overall delivery of assigned projects — schedule, budget, contract administration, and stakeholder coordination — working closely with the on-site Construction Manager, architects, engineers, and district facilities staff. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable communicating with district stakeholders while keeping projects on track.

This position reports to the Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the owner's representative for assigned K-12 projects, overseeing scope, schedule, and budget from pre-construction through closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cash flow projections, updating regularly as the project progresses
  • Administer contracts, including review and processing of submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to resolve design questions and ensure design intent is carried through construction
  • Partner with the on-site Construction Manager to align field activity with the overall project plan and address issues as they arise
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to district stakeholders, facilities staff, and the Program Manager
  • Support procurement and bidding processes, including scope development, bid review, and contractor qualification
  • Ensure compliance with public bidding requirements, prevailing wage, and district procurement policies
  • Coordinate project phasing and sequencing around the school calendar to minimize disruption to students and staff
  • Manage risk identification and mitigation planning at the project level
  • Track and manage project closeout, including punch list resolution, as-builts, warranties, and final documentation
  • Prepare and present project status reports and updates for internal and district review
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of project management experience in construction; K-12 or public education project experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, and cost/budget management
  • Familiarity with public bidding, prevailing wage, and school construction requirements a plus
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience coordinating across owners, designers, and contractors
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
