Tnuck is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technical Designer specializing in sweaters to join our dynamic team in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the design and development process, ensuring that our sweater collections meet both aesthetic and functional standards. You will collaborate closely with designers, product developers, and manufacturers to bring innovative sweater designs to life while maintaining Tnuck's commitment to quality and style.

• Collaborate with the design team to translate creative concepts into technical specifications for sweater designs, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and market trends.
• Create detailed technical packs that include measurements, construction details, and material specifications to guide production processes.
• Conduct fit sessions, evaluating samples and prototypes to ensure proper fit, drape, and overall quality of the sweaters.
• Work closely with manufacturers to communicate technical requirements and address any production challenges that may arise.
• Analyze and interpret garment construction techniques to suggest improvements or alterations that enhance product quality and functionality.
• Maintain an organized library of technical documents, including fit comments, sample evaluations, and production timelines, to ensure efficient workflow and communication.
• Collaborate with the merchandising team to understand market demands and consumer preferences, incorporating feedback into design iterations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies related to knitwear to inform design decisions and enhance product offerings.
• Participate in seasonal product development meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on technical evaluations and market research.
• Assist in the development of quality assurance protocols to ensure that all sweaters meet Tnuck's high standards before reaching the consumer.
• Support the sourcing team in identifying and evaluating new materials and suppliers that align with the brand's sustainability goals.
• Contribute to the overall team culture by sharing knowledge, mentoring junior designers, and fostering a collaborative environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical design, specifically in knitwear or sweaters.
• Proficiency in CAD software and technical design tools, such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and production processes related to knitwear.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for quality and a passion for fashion and design.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with fabric properties and sourcing, particularly in relation to sustainable practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

• Experience with 3D design software or virtual prototyping tools.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices within the fashion industry.
• Previous experience working with overseas manufacturers.
• Familiarity with production timelines and cost analysis.
• Passion for outdoor and lifestyle apparel, aligning with Tnuck's brand ethos.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and technical design software.
• Strong understanding of garment construction techniques and fabric properties.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems is a plus.

• This position is based in Washington, D.C., and may require occasional travel to manufacturing facilities or trade shows.
