EDUCATION & LAB COORDINATOR
This is a full‑time, year‑round hourly position in the Education Department. This position will report to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. The hours for this position are Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM–10:00 PM and Friday, 10:00 AM–8:00 PM.
Under the direction of the VP of Academic Affairs, the Education & Lab Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with academic support, lab management, and student learning in multiple technical trade programs at Perry Technical Institute. The coordinator will also track student disciplinary concerns and assist students with attendance‑related concerns in accordance with PTI policies.
Working ConditionsDuties are performed in a school environment. Working effectively and collaboratively in a team environment is a must. Daily interaction with instructors, students, and support staff is common, and the work environment includes noise, machinery, and physical activity typical of skilled‑trade training labs.
This is a non‑exempt, full‑time, regular position.
Wage RangeWAGE RANGE: $24–$26 per hour. The full wage scale can be calculated by starting with the hiring range and increasing the wage 3 % annually over the duration of employment. Increases depend on approval of an annual budget and are not guaranteed.

- Practical work experience working in technical trades
* or* a certificate of completion from an accredited post‑secondary technical trades program. - Ability to communicate effectively and to interface with students and staff in a professional, approachable manner.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Occasional vehicle driving required; employee must possess a working vehicle, hold a valid driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and provide proof of insurance.
- Must be willing to consent to a drug test.
- Must be able to read, speak, and effectively communicate in English.
- Three (3) years of related practical work experience working in a mechanically inclined trade
* or* a certificate of completion from an accredited post‑secondary technical trades program. - Knowledge of mechanical, industrial, and technical trades.
- Experience with Learning Resource Systems (LRS).
Conduct regular walkthroughs of all lab and shop areas throughout the workday to monitor student activity, ensure students remain on task, and maintain a safe productive learning environment.
