Position

Title: Elementary School Teaching/Kindergarten Teacher – Full‑Time

Location: St. Joseph Marquette Catholic School, Yakima, WA

Salary: $40,570.89–$74,045.25 (dependent on years of experience and education)

Benefits: A comprehensive package of benefits: medical plan, dental, vision, basic life insurance. Employees may enroll in the diocesan 403(b) plan. One day of sick leave per month (total 10) and three personal days, along with paid holidays. Additional voluntary benefits: voluntary life, accidental death and disability, long‑term care.

Job Overview

St. Joseph Marquette Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and passionate kindergarten teacher to join our team. This position is a one‑year contract due to a teacher requesting maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
  • Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines and standards in religion, literature, language arts, math, science, and social studies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum and daily classroom activities.
  • Develop in each student the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as the ability to think critically.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student development and school initiatives.
Qualifications

Required:

a bachelor’s degree and a valid Washington State teaching certificate in relevant curricular areas. Practicing Catholic preferred.
