OverviewThe School of Physical Therapy at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy program rooted in a mission to develop generalist practitioners who provide evidence‑informed, compassionate care. Faculty and students engage in regional clinical education across seven of eight semesters, including clinics at Yakima Union Gospel Mission and the Yakima Neighborhood Health Clinic.
Job Type & SalaryFull‑time (40 hours per week). Recruitment period: 03/12/2026 – Until Filled.
Annual salary ranges:
Assistant Professor $91,700–$154,000;
Associate Professor $105,400–$177,100;
Professor $121,300–$203,700. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

ResponsibilitiesAdditional responsibilities include:
- Participating in ongoing curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Teaching assigned courses.
- Advising and mentoring students.
- Establishing and maintaining a record of research and scholarly activity.
- Providing community service.
- Participating in program and university committees as appropriate.
- Earned doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a licensed physical therapist.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring in classroom or clinical settings.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of belonging, mutual respect, and team building.
- Licensed or eligible for physical‑therapy licensure in Washington State.
- Terminal doctoral degree (post‑professional doctorate, DPT) with additional professional qualifications such as ABPTS or other specialty certification.
- Academic doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D.,
D.Sc.) preferred. - Active, developing, or potential research agenda.
- At least 3 years of experience in physical‑therapy education.
- Experience with simulation‑based education.
- Demonstrated interprofessional collaboration in academic or clinical settings.
- Advanced training, teaching, and scholarly activity in an area of clinical expertise.
- Active engagement in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and community/professional service.
