Salary: $52,800 - $79,200 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience; pro‑rated based on hours/week.

General SummaryThe Simulation Educator serves as a key professional in the development, implementation, and administration of simulation‑based education. Reporting to the Manager of Simulation Education, this role focuses on the professional development of standardized patients (SPs) through comprehensive training and quality assurance, facilitating educational scenarios, and debriefing learners. The Educator applies expertise to enhance skill acquisition and educational outcomes, partnering with subject matter experts (SMEs) to guide curriculum design that aligns with defined learning objectives and supports adherence to simulation standards of practice.
EssentialJob Functions
- SP Development & Training:
Lead professional development for SPs, including comprehensive training, ongoing assessment of performance, and constructive feedback. Ensure quality assurance and standardization of SP methodology and performance. Collaborate with Operations for SP scheduling. - Simulation Activity Management:
Coordinate the preparation, implementation, and facilitation of simulation activities, including running scenarios and debriefing learners. Collaborate with Simulation Technology for equipment and software readiness. - Curriculum & Scenario Design:
Partner with faculty and SMEs to develop accurate clinical scenarios and patient cases. Design curriculum and simulation scenarios aligned with defined learning objectives, ensuring content accuracy and pedagogical effectiveness. - Data & System Operations:
Maintain accurate records of SP performance and assist with Learning Management System (LMS) operations. Ensure accurate input of SP performance data into simulation center systems. - Quality Control & Standards Compliance:
Oversee quality control for assigned simulation activities, ensuring adherence to scenario objectives and facility standards. Understand and ensure compliance with departmental accreditation standards and policies. - SP Recruitment & Support:
Support SP recruitment efforts and serve as a backup SP in emergent situations. - Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
- Education: Required:
Associate’s Degree;
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree;
Preferred:
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). - Experience: Required: 1‑3 years;
Preferred:
Experience in Curriculum Design and Delivery. - Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Effective communication (written and oral); independent decision making; ability to handle multiple tasks; problem solving; public speaking; customer service principles; accurate data entry and typing skills; operation of relevant equipment.
