Salary Information:
- Assistant Professor:
Annual Minimum $158,300 – Annual Maximum $266,000 for Full‑time (12 hours/week: $47,492.64 – $79,797.12) - Associate Professor:
Annual Minimum $182,100 – Annual Maximum $305,900 for Full‑time (12 hours/week: $54,631.20 – $91,771.68) - Professor:
Annual Minimum $209,400 – Annual Maximum $351,800 for Full‑time (12 hours/week: $62,818.08 – $)
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Pro‑rated based on hours per week.
Legal Eligibility: PNWU does not sponsor employment visas. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and for the duration of employment. Employment eligibility will be verified in accordance with federal law.
Location: Yakima, Washington. Approximately 140 miles from Seattle, 170 miles from Portland, and 200 miles from Spokane.
SUMMARYThe Assistant/Associate/Professor supports the Department of Family Medicine in teaching, service, and scholarly activity objectives of the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM). The position reports directly to the Chair of Family Medicine & OPP.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Meet all scheduled classes.
- Assist in recruitment and registration of students.
- Report final grades at the designated time.
- Advise students.
- Attend student orientation and commencement exercises.
- Maintain appropriate office hours.
- Write course syllabi.
- Develop course materials.
- Administer exams.
- Perform committee assignments.
- Engage in scholarly activity.
- Maintain professional development.
- Perform community service.
- Maintain licensure and certification as appropriate.
- May be required to maintain clinical practice as appropriate.
- Understand accreditation standards and adhere to policies to meet or exceed such standards.
- Conduct oneself appropriately and consistently with the philosophy and mission of PNWU.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Doctoral degree recognized by United States accrediting associations or appropriate terminal degree. - Strong interest in a teaching‑focused position.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient use of academic technologies and learning management systems.
- Experience as a faculty member in a medical school within primary area of expertise preferred.
- Professional experience with an exemplary record in teaching, service, and scholarly activity.
Strong organization, interpersonal, and planning skills; verbal and written communication; presentation; teamwork; flexibility; collaboration; problem‑solving; project and people management; prioritization and self‑direction; computer program and database proficiency; and scheduling.
