Required Qualifications- Valid Secondary Washington State Teacher’s Certification with a major or minor in Math required.
- Ability and/or willingness to teach AP and/or College in the High School (CHS) classes.
- More than 5 years of Math teaching experience.
- Master’s degree in Math or Math Education.
- Teach all levels of Math as assigned.
- Teach academic intervention classes that will be based around our struggling students.
- Utilize student assessment data to formulate instruction decisions.
- Incorporate dynamic, interactive, student-involved hands‑on instructional style.
- Actively engage students in the learning process using interactive, problem solving and research‑based instructional methods.
- Regularly incorporate higher‑level thinking and analytical skills in instruction, assessment and performance.
- Incorporate interactive, problem solving, and researched‑based instructional methods.
- Maintain a positive, productive learning climate within the classroom as well as with parents and colleagues.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet diversified student learning needs.
- Be devoted to developing relationships among students and staff.

- Incorporate technology into the instructional process.
- Use daily routines to create a culture of safety and belonging in the classroom.
- Assist students to make connections between class content and student career pathways.
- Create a learning environment that reflects student diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students, such as station rotation, small group instruction, and integration of technology.
- Facilitate student ownership of learning by using Universal Design for Learning strategies.
- Be a team player by establishing and maintaining cooperative professional relationships with others.
- Actively engage with other departmental members in professional learning communities, development of common assessment standards, and other aspects that ensure every student has the opportunity for a rigorous and relevant education.
- Be innovative and committed to the challenge of change in education.
- Regularly assess student work, input grades regularly into Skyward, and contact parents regarding student performance/behavior in your classroom.
- Actively participate in all workshops and training sessions that support building and district programs and goals, including the West Valley School District professional growth program (TAP/ACCEL).
- Make the commitment to supervise a variety of student activities outside the regular school day (dances, athletic events, etc.).
- Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring, and data collection of Individualized Education Plans.
Working Relationships
Work in partnership with both large and small groups of teachers and other professional staff. Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, and teaching staff. Team up with grade level colleagues to plan lessons, analyze student data, and maintain a focus on continuous improvement. Cooperate with building administrator in the observation and evaluation process. When working with instructional paraprofessionals, provide appropriate lesson plans and activity supervision.
May deal with a wide range of student abilities and behaviors; may occasionally deal with distraught or difficult students.
