Position: 1.0 Math Teacher

• Valid Secondary Washington State Teacher’s Certification with a major or minor in Math required.

• Ability and/or willingness to teach AP and/or College in the High School (CHS) classes.
• More than 5 years of Math Teaching experience.
• Master’s degree in Math or Math Education

• Teach all levels of Math as assigned.
• Teach academic intervention classes based around our struggling students.
• Utilize student assessment data to inform instruction decisions.
• Incorporate dynamic, interactive, student-involved hands-on instructional style.
• Actively engage students in the learning process using interactive, problem solving and research-based instructional methods.
• Regularly incorporate higher-level thinking and analytical skills in instruction, assessment and performance.
• Maintain a positive, productive learning climate within the classroom as well as with parents and colleagues.
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet diversified student learning needs.
• Be devoted to developing relationships amongst students and staff.
• Willingness to teach an advisory period focused on SEL and planning beyond high school.
• Incorporate technology into the instructional process.
• Use daily routines to create a culture of safety and belonging in the classroom.
• Assist students to make connections between class content and career pathways.
• Create a learning environment that reflects student diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students (e.g., station rotation, small-group instruction, integration of technology).
• Facilitate student ownership of learning using Universal Design for Learning strategies, including providing students choice with multiple ways to access content, monitor progress, and demonstrate learning.
• Be a team player by establishing and maintaining cooperative professional relationships with others.
• Engage with departmental colleagues in professional learning communities and assessment standards development to ensure a rigorous and relevant education for every student.
• Be innovative and committed to the challenge of change in education.
• Regularly assess student work, enter grades in Skyward, and communicate with parents about student performance/behavior.
• Participate in workshops and training that support district programs and goals, including the district professional growth program (TAP/ACCEL).
• Commit to supervising student activities outside the regular school day (dances, athletic events, etc.).
• Participate in development, implementation, monitoring, and data collection of Individualized Education Plans as appropriate.

Work in partnership with teachers and professional staff. Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, and teaching staff. Collaborate with grade-level colleagues to plan lessons and analyze student data for continuous improvement. Coordinate with building administrators in evaluation processes. When working with instructional paraprofessionals, provide appropriate lesson plans and supervision. May work with a wide range of student abilities and behaviors.

The daily work is in a classroom setting. The job may involve standing or sitting for long periods, exposure to computer screens, and meeting deadlines.
