This is a full-time, on-site role for a French Speaking Toddler Teacher and Assistant Teacher based in the Washington DC–Baltimore Area. The role involves planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities in French, fostering language acquisition and early literacy skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising toddlers, supporting social and emotional development, implementing classroom routines, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment. The Teacher and Assistant Teacher collaborate on lesson plans, observe and document children’s progress, communicate with families, and participate in school events and team meetings.
The position also includes preparing classroom materials, supporting meal and nap times, and following school policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to teach in French, with strong French Teaching and general Teaching skills.
- Experience with young children, especially in early childhood or toddler settings.
- Background in Teacher Training or participation in professional development related to child development and pedagogy (CDA)
- Experience or coursework in early childhood education, child development, or a related field (CDA or ECE classes)
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a nurturing, safe environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to remain patient, flexible, and responsive to the needs of toddlers in a dynamic classroom setting.
- Relevant certifications or credentials in early childhood education are preferred.
