Qualifications:

• Current and valid Special Education Teacher Certification issued by the state of Washington
• Previous experience working with middle school students with a variety of disabilities is highly desirable
• Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet individualized needs
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Strong commitment to ongoing professional development

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in accordance with their IEPs
• Develop and implement effective, individualized lesson plans and behavioral strategies
• Work closely with general education teachers, related services staff, and families
• Assess student progress and adjust programming as necessary
• Participate in IEP meetings, maintain appropriate documentation, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Create a classroom atmosphere where all students feel safe, supported, and empowered
