Job Description & How to Apply Below
Electrical Systems & Manufacturing Engineer
Serve as the company-wide technical authority for electrical systems while also owning the manufacturability, repeatability, tooling, and quality of electrical/harness assembly processes.
What You Own
- Company electrical architecture and engineering standards across 12V, 48V, and AC systems.
- Wiring schematics, harness architecture, harness design standards, and electrical BOM/specification discipline.
- Battery/energy storage, solar, inverter/charger, DC/DC, HVAC electrical integration, and communications/CAN where applicable.
- Electrical safety, compliance support, validation requirements, and component standardization.
- Manufacturing engineering for the harness department, including fixtures, tooling, test equipment, error-proofing, and end-of-line testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain electrical architecture, schematics, harness designs, specifications, and design standards.
- Partner with brand Product Engineers & Suppliers partners to translate product requirements into safe, robust electrical systems.
- Lead next-generation electrical system development where appropriate.
- Engineer harness manufacturing methods, fixtures, test systems, assembly processes, and quality controls.
- Standardize components and interfaces across brands where doing so improves reliability, cost, service, or supply resilience.
- Support electrical prototypes, validation, troubleshooting, field failures, supplier issues, and corrective actions.
- Develop electrical diagnostic standards and production/end-of-line test methods.
- Lead training for all electrical installation techs.
Cross-Functional Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong technical working relationship with all Sr. Product Engineers; organizational reporting to Operations does not change the role's authority over shared electrical architecture, standards, schematics, harness engineering, and electrical validation requirements.
- All Sr. Product Engineers on product electrical requirements and integration.
- Manufacturing Engineering and the harness department on process capability, tooling, fixtures, and test.
- Quality on electrical validation, failure analysis, compliance evidence, and corrective actions.
- Supply Chain on electrical suppliers, components, alternates, and technical approvals.
- Service on diagnostics, field failures, and serviceability improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, electromechanical engineering, or closely related discipline; equivalent directly relevant experience considered.
- Typically, 5-8+ years of electrical systems engineering experience in vehicles, RVs, marine, industrial equipment, energy systems, or other complex manufactured products.
- Strong capability in wiring schematics, harness design, DC power systems, batteries, charging, protection, grounding, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with Victron custom power systems, lithium battery systems, inverters/chargers, solar, CAN/communications, and AC integration highly desirable.
- Practical manufacturing engineering experience with harness assembly, fixtures, test equipment, error-proofing, and production quality.
What Success Looks Like
- Electrical architecture becomes standardized, documented, and scalable across brands.
- Electrical and harness-related production defects and field failures decline.
- Advanced power systems are developed with disciplined safety and validation.
- Harness manufacturing is repeatable, testable, efficient, and well-tooled.
- Brand teams receive strong electrical expertise without duplicating electrical roles.
Operating principle:
Own the electrical ecosystem from schematic to harness station to field performance.
