Customer Service Rep
Intermex is a leader in money remittance services, using proprietary financial technology to enable consumers to send money from the U.S. to 17 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, and to 4 countries in Africa. We are currently searching for a driven, results‑oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate who is customer‑focused and values teamwork and excellence.
Responsibilities- Responsible for daily sales processing.
- Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawers at end of shifts, and calculate daily transactions using the POS system or calculators.
- Prepare and send daily reports to Store Operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Have knowledge of all other services available at the Branch.
- Ensure that customers are aware of all marketing promotions available.
- Make a concentrated effort to solve customer problems.
- Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, customers and potential customers.
- Perform sorting, counting, and wrapping currencies and coins and check accuracy of deposit slips.
- Count, verify, and post armored car deposits into the POS System.
- Make cold calls to customers to inform them of current promotions.
- Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.
- Explain and promote the sales of products or services such as wires, top ups, bill payments.
- Order store supplies on a monthly basis.
- Obtain and process information required for the provision of new services.
- Contribute to the fulfillment of the department and company objectives and goals.
- Must have great follow‑through skills and an aggressive mentality.
- Excellent customer service skills and experience required.
- Ambitious, energetic, confident, with a strong work ethic.
- Strong presentation, communication, organization, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Solid problem solving and consultative skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced team sales environment.
- Multicultural experience preferred, specifically in Mexico and Guatemala.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with good written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- Some experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and relevant computer applications.
- Management experience of 3+ years.
- Cash handling experience of 3+ years.
- Leadership skills of 3+ years.
- Knowledge of office equipment usage.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Flexibility in work schedule (morning, nights, weekends, some holidays).
