Central Fill Pharmacy Assistant — Yakima, WA
OverviewJoin our team as a Central Fill Pharmacy Assistant at Central Fill Pharmacy in Yakima, WA. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Relocation assistance is not offered.
Schedule:
Rotating shifts every other month. Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm and Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.
- $18.47-$22.62/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates

- Package prescriptions to send to the pharmacies, verifying correct medication, paperwork, and patient counseling instructions are provided.
- Maintain awareness of stock levels and enter orders for restocking based on defined minimum inventory levels. Verify quantity and submit orders to the wholesaler.
- Verify product orders received with invoice and purchase order. Place a sticker on each item and place it on the shelf.
- Monitor and check expiration dates on drugs in stock.
- Return or discard dispensed prescriptions to stock if they are returned by a pharmacy.
- Answer phones, handle non-professional inquiries, and transfer calls to appropriate staff.
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, food service, manufacturing, patient care, or customer service experience
- Pharmacy Assistant state registration within 60 days of employment
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills with a customer-oriented approach
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to perform administrative tasks (answering phones, filing, faxing, scanning, copying)
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to organize work while performing multiple tasks requiring attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information with discretion
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Proficiency in EMR software, Pharmacy Management software, automated filling software and/or Patient Communications Systems
