PositionPhlebotomist 5314
LocationYakima, WA
Schedule8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday or 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, schedule to be finalized.
Responsibilities- Experience doing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
- Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection.
- Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens as required.
- Ensure specimens stored at correct temperature and labeled accurately.
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
- Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results for inquiries.
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state (as required).
- Minimum 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of overall experience.
- Experience with pediatrics and geriatrics specimen collection.
