Supervisor, Network Operations Center (NOC)

Base Salary: $65,700 to $90,000 annually DOE.

100% onsite position in Yakima, WA. Only candidates within commuting distance will be considered.

Job Summary

The Supervisor is responsible for leading day‑to‑day monitoring and health of Zoomly Fiber's infrastructure, motivating a team environment, maintaining uptime performance, growing the NOC team, overseeing network events and maintenance, and supervising a group of NOC technicians on a 4‑day / 10‑hour shift schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Team Leadership & Shift Management
  • Technical escalation point for a team of NOC technicians on shift.
  • Lead one of the 4‑day / 10‑hour weekly shifts monitoring network events and troubleshooting voice, commercial, and transport issues.
  • Ensure shift staffing meets company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively for shift handoffs.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Technical Operations & Troubleshooting
  • Maintain documentation on the NOC Master Playbook.
  • Review trouble tickets for proper documentation and timely resolution.
  • Ensure timely customer communication and follow‑up.
  • Provide technical aid to customers and internal partners during escalations.
  • Send customer notifications regarding outages, problems, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend procedural improvements.
Training & Process Improvement
  • Teach technical concepts and network monitoring tools.
  • Produce training materials for NOC technicians.
  • Hold training sessions and report on program completion.
  • Recommend process improvements to the NOC Manager.
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties to support the business as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of NOC Tier 1 experience or 3 years of NOC Tier 2/3 experience.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution.
  • Ability to maintain NOC shift scheduling for 4‑day / 10‑hour coverage.
  • Adaptability to changing conditions with sound decision making.
  • Goal‑setting and achievement for self and team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with NOC tools for escalation.
  • Strong time management and prioritization.
  • Effective communication at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to work various shifts as needed (weekdays, weekends, swing, night).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience, preferably in telecom.
  • Telecom Network Operations Center experience.
  • Ticket management experience.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and technologies.
  • Experience with switches and routers.
  • Basic understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting.
  • Basic understanding of Ethernet.
  • Understanding of fiber optic network infrastructure repair and maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Operates office equipment and Microsoft Office apps.
  • Ambitious and goal‑oriented.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving.
  • Teamwork with independent work.
  • Capacity to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work non‑standard business hours.
Work Authorization

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorship is not available.

Physical Requirements

Requirements include bending, stooping, walking, standing, sitting for prolonged periods. Must occasionally lift 20–25 pounds. Vision and other specific abilities may be required.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and extensive use of computers, keyboards, mice, and a multi‑line telephone system.
