IT Project Manager
Job Summary
As Director of Technology – Core Banking, you will lead technology strategy and delivery for BECU’s core banking platform, driving modernization, architectural excellence and high‑performance team leadership.
Pay and BenefitsTarget pay range: $199,300 – $243,800 annually (full range $155,200 – $288,000). 401(k) with company match up to 3% with 4% annual contribution, medical/dental/vision, PTO, tuition reimbursement, volunteer time off and donation match.
Location & RemoteEligible residents of WA, OR, , AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA, or VA. Washington residents within commuting distance to Tukwila expected to work onsite Tuesdays & Wednesday; other locations: fully remote.
Responsibilities- Align technology strategy with business goals and deliver enterprise‑scale initiatives.
- Own technology roadmaps, manage engineering and delivery teams, and implement agile practices.
- Advance platform modernization, supporting cloud, data, APIs, and Dev Ops.
- Lead project delivery, ensuring sequencing, dependency management, and governance.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, fostering accountability and performance.
- Drive improvements in software development lifecycle, quality, automation, and CI/CD.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define roadmaps, optimize feature delivery, and measure outcomes with OKRs/KPIs.
- Manage vendor contracts and partner implementation resources.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of people‑leadership experience.
- Minimum 8 years of IT experience with application design and large‑scale platform delivery.
- Experience in core banking or financial systems, preferably Fiserv/DNA.
- Proficient with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, testing, cloud, APIs, and modern architecture.
- Experience managing cross‑functional programs, vendor and partner engagements.
- Advanced degree and experience in complex, multi‑dependency programs are desired.
- Strong communication skills and ability to align technical and business stakeholders.
