General Summary

The Simulation Technologist, reporting to the Manager of Simulation Technology, applies key technical expertise within the Simulation Center, providing hands-on technical support and guidance for learners, faculty, and staff. This role acts as the primary technical point person for simulation activity design, equipment preparation, technical training, and ensuring the operational readiness of the technical environment within the simulation center.

Essential Job Functions
  • Technical Operations & Equipment Management: Ensures effective simulation activity preparation through precise equipment set up, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Systems & Infrastructure Oversight: Manages and maintains operational aspects of the Simulation Center’s technical systems, including user accounts, data storage, and digital interfaces. Provides administrative support for the Learning Management System (LMS) and assists with website and other digital platform maintenance.
  • Technical Training & User Support: Provides effective user trainings on LMS system functions and other technical aspects of the Simulation Center, as well as direct technical support to all simulation staff.
  • Technical Content Development: Responsible for development and maintenance of simulation activity materials and internal documents focused on technical aspects and user guides.
  • Scenario Realism & Enhancement: Responsible for creating realism in simulation scenarios according to learning objectives, including moulage application, environmental cues, and technology enhancements.
  • Inventory & Space Management: Develops and maintains appropriate inventory controls for activity supplies, notifies the Operations Coordinator of purchasing needs, and maintains the organization of all simulation spaces.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.

    Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
