Seconds is excited to announce our Ameri Corps program, the Mental and Social Health Corps. Only7

Seconds will engage 16 MT members across 12 sites to bring knowledge and awareness around the issues young people face with their social health and mental health. These Mental and Social Health Ambassadors will facilitate our youth-led Club7 program as well as participating in community events. We are also excited to engage 4 regional HT Team Leaders to support and coach the Ambassadors and spread awareness and education about youth mental and social health.

This will further our goal of expanding understanding, education, and awareness of mental and social health across Washington communities in service of our mission, to end the loneliness epidemic through intentional meaningful connection.

Member Duties :

MT Position

Description:

The Member will serve in schools or community organizations. MSHC Members will be the mental and social health support at their respective sites. They will be equipped to work alongside site leadership to look at community and culture concerns and find specific ways to infuse connection and social health into the fabric of the site. This will include greeting youth and learning their names.

It can include participating in staff meetings and trainings in order to share the voice of youth social health, elevating connection efforts across the site. It includes convening youth each week to participate in Club7, and sharing the Club7 opportunity with youth not yet involved. These club sessions will require planning and resource development as well as site level coordination for each month’s community-wide connection challenge.

All Members will support tangible connection initiatives like co-regulation. Service sites can be community 3rd places or school sites.
