Part‑time Service Center Nurse Triage – Yakima Presson Place, Yakima, WA

- 24 hours per week approximate
- EMR system: EPIC
- $39.30‑$48.14 per hour DOE, with potential for higher for experienced candidates
- Additional pay for bilingual skills, paid on hours worked
- Hiring/Retention Bonus Structure: $4,200.00
- Bonus details:
- At Hire: $1,200.00
- At 180 days (6 months): $1,680.00
- At 12 months: $1,200.00
- Bonus prorated based on Full Time Equivalency (FTE)

- Provide care during patient visits, discussing chief complaint, obtaining vital signs, and completing health history; develop baseline physical assessment
- Perform phone triage to determine chief complaint, next steps, and follow‑up care needed
- Document health history, assessments, actions, and medications in EMR
- Assist providers with diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Perform IV starts when ordered and educate patients on site selection and potential complications
- Collect allergy and pre‑existing condition information from patients
- Explain drug classes, side effects, and onset of action; obtain consent
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans, including education and coordination of interagency referrals
- Facilitate smooth patient flow by coordinating with ancillary staff based on provider schedule
- Perform clinical responsibilities in accordance with The Joint Commission, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- 1 year of outpatient or clinical RN experience preferred
- Active WA RN license required
- Dual Washington/Oregon licensure required within 120 days, or NLC qualification per state rules
- BCLS within 90 days of hire
- ACLS and PALS preferred
- Eligibility for bilingual differential compensation;
Spanish proficiency level 10 preferred - Training in Early Periodic Screening & Development Testing and Women’s Health Exams preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing concepts and procedures
- Knowledge of medication uses and effects
- Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage frequent interruptions
- Professional interaction with patients, families, and staff
- Understanding of unique needs across all age groups
- Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, EMR)
