American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a high-volume Level III trauma center in Washington state, requiring a minimum of 3 years ED experience and a comprehensive certification package.

• Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department at a 226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital
• The ED sees approximately 200–250 patients per day, making it one of the busiest EDs in the state
• Patient population spans neonate to geriatric, including pediatric medical and trauma, stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, and substance use disorder cases
• Stabilize and transfer patients requiring neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high-acuity pediatric care
• Patient ratios are 1:3–5 based on acuity; the ED is organized in zones, including a 13-bed fast track 'green zone'
• 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a); mid and evening shift variations are also available
• Every other weekend rotation required; occasional back-to-back weekends possible
• EMR:
  Epic (required)
• No floating required
• No on-call responsibilities

• Active WA RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a large-volume, high-acuity ED
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in barcode scanning medication administration, medication drip management, and blood product administration
• Triage experience required; must pass the hospital's triage competency test prior to triaging independently
• Experience with chest tube setup, arterial lines, trauma and code response, splinting, and BiPAP/ventilator management
• Strong understanding of the ESI (Emergency Severity Index) triage system
• Two supervisory references required (Charge RN, Manager, Director, or above) prior to start
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

• Administer TNK for stroke patients and support cardiac cath lab cases
• Pediatric emergency medicine experience is highly preferred
• Point-of-care lab experience is a plus
• Candidates must complete clinical interviewing and a unit review through Simpli Fi as part of the hiring process
• Scrubs may be any color; no logos permitted
