Safety Affairs Specialist required for Chemical Manufacturer

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Affairs Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll help ensure regulatory compliance, drive safety programs, and support a strong culture of workplace safety.

Safety Affairs Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
  • Support EH&S compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal regulations through documentation and recordkeeping
  • Conduct routine safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance
  • Track corrective actions and ensure timely resolution of identified issues
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis
  • Maintain EH&S systems and databases for incidents, training, and inspections
  • Coordinate and support safety training programs and onboarding initiatives
  • Develop and distribute safety communications including bulletins and awareness materials
  • Monitor PPE inventory and ensure appropriate usage across departments
  • Support safety audits, inspections, and continuous improvement activities
  • Compile and report safety metrics, dashboards, and compliance data
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, ISO standards, and EH&S procedures
The ideal Safety Affairs Specialist candidate will have the following skillset:
  • Associate's degree in EH&S, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or relevant certification + experience)
  • 0-1 years of EH&S, safety, or environmental experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA/EPA guidelines preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or on a team
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to safety and problem-solving
