Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to process customer orders accurately and efficiently while providing hands‑on support to the Inside Sales Team. This role serves as an extension of the Inside Sales function, helping streamline daily tasks and improve turnaround times for both the team and our customers. By ensuring timely and precise order fulfillment, this position plays a key role in delivering a positive customer experience.

A primary focus of the role is to learn the tools, processes, and industry practices necessary to effectively support sales operations and meet customer needs.

Job Duties
  • Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner to support efficient fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide hands‑on support to the Inside Sales Team to help reduce turnaround times and enhance service to customers.
  • Assist with coverage for team members during absences to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Team members to resolve customer inquiries, issues, and account concerns.
  • Learn standards and maintain current knowledge of products, promotions, and services.
  • Continuously update customer information within assigned sales region regarding openings/closing of customer locations, change of ownership or sales contact and addresses or billing information.
  • Work in conjunction with Finance Department to update account status and information as well as determine customer financial standing.
  • Confer with Inside Sales Manager or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve process efficiency and notify Inside Sales Manager of observations and recommendations.
  • Maintain sanitary and safe work environment and follow safety requirements.
  • Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations are observed.
  • Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and sustainability.
  • Must adhere to all company policies.
  • Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Follow all SOPs in a given area.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager and/or designee.
Job Qualifications
  • AA in Business preferred, but not required.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills, strong communication skills, positive attitude, punctuality, accountability, honesty/integrity.
  • Must be strongly detail-oriented and able to easily multi-task.
  • Should be able to initiate, prioritize, and perform or solve work problems and ultimately achieve work objectives to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in written and verbal form with co‑workers, supervisor, management, and customers.
  • Ability to adapt to changing paces and tasks quickly without losing momentum.
  • Ability to effectively communicate interdepartmentally.

  • Follow written (Standard Operating Procedures - SOPs, company memos & emails) and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to deliver respectful feedback.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Must support co‑workers to obtain desired objectives, and assist others in their contributions.
  • Must be able to learn ERP systems to perform data entry & print reports.
