Confidential Opportunity OverviewP5 Consulting Services is recruiting for an Agriculture Sales and Market Development Representative for a global crop protection and specialty chemical company. We’re seeking a credible, self‑directed Washington agriculture professional who can develop dealer, distributor, applicator, consultant, and grower relationships across the state.
This is a flexible 1099 contractor opportunity for someone who already understands Washington crops, crop protection conversations, product stewardship, and how purchasing decisions are made in local agricultural communities. The role is well suited for a senior ag sales professional, crop consultant, agronomist, or crop protection representative who wants territory ownership and performance upside.
Candidate Career Value Snapshot- Represent a global crop protection company with a broad portfolio of herbicide, fungicide, insecticide, seed treatment, and specialty chemical products.
- Use existing Washington relationships in a role built around market development (vs a desk driven sales job.)
- Work across high value Washington crops including tree fruit, potatoes, onions, wheat, hops, grapes, berries, vegetables, and related markets.
- Build a territory through dealers, distributors, applicators, consultants, and grower relationships.
- Receive a monthly market development retainer plus meaningful performance bonus tied to measurable outcomes.
- Operate with field autonomy while maintaining professional discipline, product stewardship, and compliance with labels and licensing requirements.
- Create value for growers and channel partners through practical product education, timely follow up, market intelligence, and credible agronomic conversation.
The Agriculture Sales and Market Development Representative will support the commercialization, promotion, and sale of crop protection products across Washington State. The role requires a practical mix of technical agriculture knowledge, commercial judgment, dealer relationship development, and consistent field execution.
The strongest fit is someone who is comfortable being measured by market progress, relationship quality, account development, product adoption, and sales results. This person should be able to work independently, follow product labels and regulations, and represent the company professionally in local agricultural settings.
Core Responsibilities- Develop and execute a Washington territory work plan with clear milestones and performance goals.
- Build and expand sales activity across Washington agricultural markets.
- Develop relationships with dealers, distributors, Ag retailers, applicators, crop consultants, and growers.
- Promote crop protection products including herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and related specialty products.
- Support product education, seasonal sales activity, field level discussions, and customer follow up.
- Identify new opportunities by crop, geography, pest pressure, product need, and customer demand.
- Provide product use and agronomic guidance only where legally permitted and properly licensed.
- Support order flow, customer communication, account development, and payment follow up when appropriate.
- Provide market intelligence on customer needs, competitive products, pricing, performance, channel feedback, and registration related needs.
- Represent the company professionally at agricultural meetings, trade events, and industry settings when useful.
