Complete disassembly and reassembly of cab, hood, and all related body parts of a motor truck. Must be able to repair and prepare body parts for painting.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS- Uses all tools of the trade, shop machines, power tools, and welders and maintains them along with personal tools.
- Reads and understands blueprints and technical publications, including service manuals and service bulletins, and uses this information to perform work and instruct others.
- Determines usability of all component parts and lists and orders needed parts.
- Writes a detailed description of all work performed on each repair.
- Uses or learns to use a computer for punching on/off repair orders.
- Performs repairs within an accepted time standard.
- Performs all tasks safely.
- Trains helpers productively.
- Follows Bruckner policy and procedures, both implied and expressed.
- Works with a minimum of supervision.
Willing to perform other miscellaneous functions as required – cleaning, steam cleaning, salvage yard duties, etc., as related to the business.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSHigh school or equivalent. Must be willing to take continuing education courses as deemed necessary. Must be able to speak and understand English for job and safety reasons.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS- Must have a good upper and lower toolbox with all needed hand tools, including a ½ inch air impact wrench.
- Interacts with customers, vendors, and co‑workers positively and constructively.
- Takes instructions and cooperates with supervisors.
- Has overtime flexibility.
- Must have a CDL driver’s license.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Must pass a physical exam, including a drug test.
- Must lift 50 pounds from floor to waist high, and 25 pounds to shoulder high.
- Must climb around in the engine compartment, frame areas, and under the truck.
