Title:

Sign Maintenance Technician

To install, maintain, and repair a variety of signs, ensuring their functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal. This includes troubleshooting electrical and structural issues, performing preventative maintenance, and adhering to all safety regulations.

• Install new signs, including electrical connections, mounting hardware, and structural supports.
• Perform routine maintenance on existing signs, such as cleaning, replacing bulbs, and repairing minor damage.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems, identify faulty components, and perform necessary repairs.
• Conduct structural inspections of signs and supporting structures to ensure safety and stability.
• Respond to service calls and address sign malfunctions promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and materials used.
• Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and procedures when working with electrical components and at heights.
• Manage inventory of sign materials, tools, and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding sign maintenance and repair projects.
• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and new technologies related to sign maintenance.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, 04-Journeyman electrical license.
• 5 years experience as installer or service technician.
• CDL license.
• Welding experience.
• Operate a crane/bucket truck (manual transmission).
• Experience with electrical wiring and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with various sign types, including neon, LED, and channel letters.
• Experience using hand and power tools related to sign installation and repair.

• Extremely trustworthy and have a positive attitude, with well with others and have an eye for detail.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work at heights using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.
• Must be mechanically inclined and be able to use hand/power tools and tape measures.
• May be required to stand 80% of the workday.
• Willing to do a diversity of tasks in and out of the shop when required.
• General construction knowledge.
• Must be able to complete labor intensive work repeatedly, including lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, etc.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and solve problems.
• Experienced in a fast-paced, high productive work environment.
