Mechanical Technician – 6 Month Shutdown
We have an opportunity to work as a Mechanical Technician during a 6‑month shutdown.
Responsibilities- Carry out maintenance, dismantling, inspection, repair, and reassembly of rotating and static mechanical equipment, such as pumps (centrifugal and reciprocating), compressors, gearboxes, turbines, mixtures, fin‑fans, , FD, blowers and fans.
- Perform precision alignment of rotating equipment using dial indicators and laser alignment tools.
- Conduct equipment inspection and troubleshooting to detect faults or wear.
- Replace defective parts including seals, bearings, gaskets, shafts, couplings, and mechanical seals.
- Follow technical drawings, isometrics, and job packages accurately.
- Support mechanical scopes during shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Work safely under SABIC’s permit‑to‑work system, including LOTO, confined space, and hot work procedures.
- Coordinate with other teams (electrical, instrument, rigging) to execute integrated work packages.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly handled and maintained.
- Education:
Technical Diploma or Industrial Certificate in Mechanical Maintenance or related field. - Experience:
Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial plants; proven experience in shutdown or turnaround maintenance is essential.
- SABIC or Aramco Permit to Work Holder.
- OSHA or site‑specific safety certifications.
- Basic rigging & lifting safety awareness (optional).
