Essential Functions and Duties:Complies with all state laws, administrative rules, and district policies that affect special education.
Provides direct and supportive services to district students certified for special education and special education and related services.
Completes diagnostic evaluations and interprets results on children in need of evaluation for special education and special education and related services.
Develops individual education plans for students certified in special education.
Provides goal-based remediation in individual and/or group sessions.
Conducts periodic re-assessment of student progress in achieving instructor goals and objectives in accordance with individual education plans.
Counsels and instructs parents in understanding and supporting individual education plan activities.
Attends case study in his or her assigned buildings.
Participates in the placement committee process.
Maintains special education records.
Performs other such duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or Director of Student Services.
