The Automation Engineer designs and implements industrial control systems, provides change control, troubleshoots automated equipment, modifies existing control systems, and supports customer projects from beginning to end, including: wiring control systems and sensors, software development/configurations, SCADA development, creating diagrams, PLC, and other technical areas.
- Program and optimize industrial robots and PLCs to support production needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related equipment issues alongside maintenance staff.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects to increase automation efficiency and uptime.
- Design or modify mechanical and control systems for new or existing equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, production, engineering) to implement automation upgrades and maintenance programs.
- Support installation and commissioning of new automated systems.
- Create and maintain documentation for equipment, programs, and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related. (required)
- 3+ years of hands on experience with PLC programming (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or comparable systems)(required)
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or mechanical engineering. (required)
- Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies and practices, including smart automation, real-time data analytics, and interconnected manufacturing systems. (preferred)
