Job LocationThis position is located on-site in Yankton, SD. We are situated in Southeast South Dakota, on the banks of the Missouri River and minutes from Lewis and Clark Lake where you can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational activities.
What You Will Be Doing- Closely examine production methods, materials, and facilities, constantly seeking areas of improvement, and initiate action with vendors and internal departments to bring about product/process improvement.
- Investigate production and process problems and take necessary action to bring effective solutions.
- Execute Process-FMEA analyses, identify potential failure modes, and implement corrective actions through process changes, equipment updates, and control system improvements.
- Support installation, commissioning, startup and maintenance of automated equipment.
- Define, develop, and maintain automated manufacturing systems, including PLC controls, HMI/SCADA applications, and custom machine interfaces.
- Maintain comprehensive process and equipment documentation, including work instructions, machine schematics, control logic, and software programs.
- Drive continuous improvement of process capability, equipment reliability, and production efficiency through data‑driven analysis and system optimization.
- Act as a key liaison between process engineering and automation teams to ensure alignment between process requirements and equipment functionality.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Three to five years of industrial process/automation experience.
- High level of mechanical aptitude and ability to translate design and process ideas into usable specifications.
- Strong programming skills in Allen‑Bradley PLCs.
- Experience in and VB6 development.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ether Net/IP, Device Net, Modbus).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
