Senior Project Controls Specialist (SrPCS)

Position responsible for developing analytical systems for routine project controls assignments including complex aspects of individual project estimating, forecasting, change analysis and cost control. The SrPCS is an essential position in the project controls core team, supporting CAPEX projects in Hydro Generation, including water retaining structures and hydro generation assets. The SrPCS will support Project Managers on projects and programs, leading or directing the set‑up and review of project controls status (cost, contract, WBS, schedule, resource, etc.).

The SrPCS is responsible for performing various aspects of project control assignments and has a critical role in mentoring PCS I/PCS II positions.

Basic

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or Project Management
  • 5 years related work experience
  • Or HS Diploma plus 9 years related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Utility experience, Construction Management knowledge
  • Software proficiency – MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Passport, Power Plan, Emax, People Soft
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Risk Management, Project Leadership
  • Proven collaborative team member
Working Conditions

Hybrid: work from both remote and onsite locations after onboarding. Hybrid employees must live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy Hydro Generating Station and are required to work two to three days per week at a Hydro Generating Facility, Hydro Control Facility, or Corporate Headquarters. Travel 5–15%. Relocation assistance provided as applicable.
