This position is located on‑site in Yankton, SD, on the banks of the Missouri River, minutes from Lewis and Clark Lake.

• Designing, testing, and engineering production for one or several routine to moderately complex projects.
• Fabricating or directing technicians in the fabrication of prototype models for test purposes; redesigning components as needed to meet performance specifications and providing final sketches to the drafting department.
• Maintaining documentation for product history and production.
• Recommending improvements, modifications, and new designs of production equipment; designing simple to moderately complex test equipment jigs, fixtures, and tools.
• Handling line check‑out of new equipment and consulting on troubleshooting prototype or production equipment.
• Investigating production and process problems and initiating solutions with vendors and internal departments.
• Working regularly with customers regarding product design, specifications, materials, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Re‑evaluating and redesigning specific products beyond customer or military specification requirements when required.
• Traveling to discuss customer problems or investigate product‑related issues in the field as necessary.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering or equivalent.
• Three to five years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High mechanical aptitude and ability to translate design and process ideas into usable specifications.
• Ability to work independently on complex projects.
• Effective teamwork and project leadership skills.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
