Job Title
Registered Nurse (RN)
Job OverviewLocation:
Avera Sacred Heart Hospital.
Work shift:
As needed (days, nights, mid‑shift).
Hours:
7:00–7:00 AM/11:00 AM–11:00 PM; PRN / fill‑in as needed. Pay range: $32.50–$48.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
- Deliver nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends.
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team: review prescriptions, communicate care plans, and provide needed information.
- Coordinate care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting status, and involving family and friends.
- Teach patients and families about conditions, medications, and self‑care skills, and answer questions.
- Evaluate patient care against therapeutic standards, review records, and re‑evaluate care objectives as needed.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication administration protocols, controlled substance regulations, and legal regulations.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Keep patient‑care equipment operational, troubleshoot, maintain supplies, and manage preventive maintenance.
- Ensure supplies are stocked by checking inventory, anticipating needs, ordering, and verifying receipt.
- Maintain competence in nursing capabilities based on leadership outlines.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license in the state of practice.
- 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment (preferred).
- Ability to work the specified hours and provide 24‑hour coverage as needed.
- Visual acuity adequate for position duties; ability to communicate effectively, hear and understand speech.
- Compliance with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards (CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, OSHA). Must uphold Avera’s mission, vision, values, and 4
