Medication Aide / Hospitality Aide

Location:

Union Post Acute, Union, South Carolina.

Salary: $32,000 - $32,000 per year.

Union Post Acute is a long‑term care and rehabilitation community that offers a home‑like environment for residents in assisted living and skilled nursing. Our small‑town facility values friendly, professional, and supportive teamwork.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with medication administration as ordered by physicians.
  • Follow medication policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Accurately document medication passes and vital signs.
  • Monitor residents for reactions and report concerns.
  • Verify resident identity before medication administration.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and pharmacy partners.
  • Support audits, surveys, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensed Medication Aide (SC).
  • Strong communication and basic math skills.
  • Reliable, detail‑oriented team player.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Standing, walking, and moving throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable in a low‑to‑moderate noise environment.

General Responsibilities
  • Assist in administering medications under the direction of nursing staff and physicians.
  • Follow facility policies for medication documentation, error reporting, and labeling.
  • Participate in quality assurance and medication safety committees.
  • Assist with drug receipt and disposal procedures.
  • Ensure accurate charting and removal of discontinued medications.
  • Report medication errors, adverse reactions, or any concerns to supervisory staff.
  • Maintain confidential resident information and report unauthorized disclosures.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Licensed Medication Aide with completed state‑approved training and examination.

Skills

  • Strong reading, writing, and communication abilities.
  • Basic math skills involving fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Problem‑solving and reasoning abilities.
  • Effective presentation of information to managers and employees.
Physical Demands
  • Occasional lifting and moving of up to 25 lbs.
  • Regular standing, walking, and talking; reading and hearing throughout shift.
  • Use of computer and office equipment.
  • Ability to perform emergency evacuation assistance if required.
  • Work environment noise generally low to moderate.
