Job SummaryThe Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to patients of all ages, from infants to older adults. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic illnesses, promoting health and wellness, and working in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Conduct comprehensive physical exams and health assessments
- Obtain and interpret patient histories and diagnostic tests
- Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic medical conditions
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments within scope of practice
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide health education and counseling on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices
- Manage follow-up care and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed
- Perform minor procedures as appropriate (e.g., wound care, suturing)
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record system
- Participate in quality improvement and practice initiatives
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines
Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.
Experience in primary care or family medicine preferred.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
State Controlled Substance License (if required by State).
National board certification as a Family (FNP-C) or (FNP-BC).
Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.

Practice DetailsAPP will work in clinic and cover emergency department, providing primary care in the clinic, and emergency medicine care in the ED.
